The Friends of the Beaufort Library is a dedicated non-profit organization, founded in 1978. We are proud stewards of the funds raised through memberships, donations, and proceeds from our annual Book Sale.
Thanks to the support of people like you, we donated $90,000 during the 2025/2026 fiscal year to enhance library services at the four branches in northern Beaufort County.
We proudly funded these vital resources and community programs:
The Beaufort branch Children's Room renovation
Penworthy Circulation kits and WonderBooks
Decodable Books and Spanish Language Books
StoryWalk (outdoor reading) at the Spanish Moss Trail and the Port Royal Naval Heritage Park
Lucky Day books
SC State Park Passes
Summer and Winter Reading programs
Branch Library Programs and Library Staff Support
Books Sandwiched In - Speaker and Author events
